Message from Gustaf Rentzhog, CEO at Söderberg & Partners Holding AB:About the acquisition of Benchmark in the United Kingdom
Söderberg & Partners established its UK operations in 2024, where we have invested in and built out a business infrastructure for modern financial advisers with the ambition to transform and innovate the financial services industry. With the acquisition of Benchmark, Söderberg & Partners has approximately £140 billion asset under advice, of which approx. £60 billion relates to the UK operations. This makes Söderberg & Partners one of the largest providers of Financial advice in the UK market.
Achieving greater scale is important for the future to enable us to offer efficient solutions and world-class services to both advisers and clients - particularly when it comes to technology. The acquisition of Benchmark is an important building block in this strategy, adding further scale, capabilities and expertise to an already strong platform. This is an important piece of the puzzle in our ambition for growth in the UK.
Söderberg & Partners strongly believes in the power of scale. Across industries, it is common that the three largest players ultimately capture around 70–90 per cent of total revenue over time, as markets consolidate and efficiency, technology and distribution scale become decisive competitive advantages. The financial advisory industry is currently undergoing a significant consolidation wave across Europe, and Söderberg & Partners has a clear ambition to be one of the long-term winners in this structural transformation.
Achieving this requires rapid and sustained growth, a relentless focus on adviser and client satisfaction, and the ability to build the most effective products, services and technology platforms in the market. If we can create solutions that make advisers more efficient and allow them to spend more time with their clients, we win as an infrastructure. This in turn requires continued investment in best-in-class processes, systems and operating models, as well as ongoing development of the firm's overall business methodology.
